One of the most exquisite weddings I have ever attended was an evening wedding in December. The detail was perfect. It was dim lighting, dark colors of deep purple, and royal blue. Every detail was perfection.
The one thing that stood out was the way the tables were displayed. There were about eight tables in the dining hall. They were covered with black satin table cloths. Instead of traditional vases with flowers, they decided to place tiffany style table lamps on each table. All the lamps were a little different, still had the same color scheme that went with their décor so it tied together well. Just that little touch made the room very romantic and unique.
One of my best friends bought his first house, about a year ago. The best feature in his home was the huge walkway when you first enter the house. It has a beautiful staircase, hardwood floors down the hallway, so nicely done. The eye sore was the ancient ceiling lamp. That was the first thing to be replaced.
While we were shopping for furniture, we decided to go into a lighting store. We came across the most beautiful Victorian Tiffany hanging pendant light. The colors were brilliant and bold. It had the most amazing detail. The Tiffany lamp was the best purchase that he made for his home by far. He loved it so much that he ended up getting one for each room.
One of the great things about walking through my grandmother’s house is looking at all the beautiful pieces of furniture that she has collected over the years. Anywhere from old sofas, with the floral design, to an old wrought iron wine rack that she purchased from a garage sale before I was even born. She’s a very eclectic person. You can tell just by all the old picture frames hanging on her walls. She has a style like no other.
My favorite pieces in the house, I have to say, would be the Tiffany style floor lamps. She has one in every room. The lamps set such an ambiance that it is captivating. The colors are brilliant and still vibrant to this day. She told me that she got them passed down to her from her grandmother and that they would be passed to me one day. I am truly honored to have such magnificent lamps some day in my home to show my future grandchildren.
