I decided recently that the living room was in some serious need of redecoration if I was going to start entertaining guests. I’ve been wanting to start having dinner parties and wine tastings and things like that for quite some time but I wanted to make certain that my home was in the best possible condition before I started trying to host these sorts of parties.
The first thing that I did was replace all the furniture and make it so the furniture in the living room would open the room up a bit more. I figured that this would be perfect for hosting parties. I also repainted the walls and got the carpets professionally cleaned. I finished up the redecorating by replacing all of the lighting in the room with Tiffany style pendant lights.
A friend of mine recently threw a housewarming wine and cheese tasting party at his new home. I’d never had a chance to see his new place before and I was surprised as to how tastefully it was decorated. He told me that he had hired someone to decorate his home for him and that he was really happy with how everything had ended up turning out.
The furniture in his house all matched very well together and there was a certain style about the home that I thought looked very nice; it didn’t surprise me that he had someone professional put everything together for him, because my friend’s not exactly someone who knows how to pick these kinds of items out himself. The house was well-lit with Tiffany hanging lamps.
There’s nothing that frustrates me more than trying to find the perfect birthday gift for someone. Some people are harder to shop for than others. My dad, for example, wants nothing but Blu-ray movies to add to his collection. He isn’t picky about which ones, so long as they’re Blu-ray. My mother is another story.
My mother doesn’t like to make wish lists or leave any clues as to what she would like for her birthday or for Christmas. She has very specific taste and she usually returns gifts if they aren’t the right color or the right size. She exchanged they Tiffany hanging pendant light my sister and I got her for her birthday last year because it clashed with the couches in the living room. I’m thinking of just getting her a gift card this year to make things easier for everyone.
Lately I’ve become a big fan of the show HGTV Design Star. I find the assortment of interior designers, furniture makers, artists, set designers, and architects they find to compete on the show utterly fascinating. Each contestant has their own point of view and style aesthetic that has opened my eyes to design ideas I’d never considered.
For instance, in a challenge where they had to transform a blank room with minimal furnishings, one designer chose to make light a focal point. He hobbled together about 15 clear light bulbs and hung them in such a way that they cast interesting shadows on the wall. I was so inspired that I moved my Tiffany hanging pendant light to the edge of the room so it now shines along a blank wall, thus letting the exquisite colors pop even more in contrast.
When it comes to interior decorating the only rule is: there are no rules. I firmly believe that whatever colors, patterns, and fabrics make you happy, then that is what should be used. Don’t worry what other people think; they don’t have to live in your home.
For instance, conventional rules state that a dining table should have one elegant chandelier. If you take a peek at my dining room, however, you’ll notice that I have not one chandelier, but three. I took three Tiffany hanging lamps and hung them at different heights for a unique look that shows off the lamps’ colors. I think that my choice in lighting reflects my eclectic tastes perfectly.
Of all the things to see and do in New England, one of my favorite activities is visiting the Mark twain House and Museum. Mark Twain and his wife lived in the home they had built from 1874 to 1891. After the death of their daughter, as well as some financial troubles, the Twain family sold the home and moved into a new home in Redding, CT where Twain died in 1910.
Since the house was sold it went from a private residence to a school to coal storage facility to a subdivision. Finally, a group of Hartford residents bought the property and had it restored. Now it is a National Historic Landmark restored to the glory of the period when the Twains called it home. It includes incredible examples of art and architecture, including Tiffany hanging lamps – after all, Louis Comfort Tiffany himself was commissioned by Twain to complete the interior decorating in 1881.
Lately, I’ve been feeling like my home needs a little bit of redecoration; sometimes, if it’s been too long without me doing much with my home, I get a bit antsy and feel the need to do something new and interesting. Lately, I’ve been getting really into Tiffany lamps, so I started wondering if there was a good way to integrate those into my household.
Once I officially landed on adding some Tiffany style products to my house, I decided that some Tiffany style hanging lamps would be a great way to spice the place up. I really like them because in the area that I’ve place them, they can be seen as soon as you enter my home. They really liven up the place!
Sometimes overhead lighting is necessary. I have a very small apartment with only one small window. It gets really dark during the winter. Reading is my favorite past time, but my eyes get strained when I try to read in my dimly-lit apartment. My main sources of light were a small kitchen-ceiling lamp and floor lamp.
I realized that in order to indulge in my reading, I would have to get some tiffany style hanging lamps. I wouldn’t usually choose overhead lights, but it turned out they worked really well to brighten up my apartment. It was a comfort to know that I could read any time I wanted.
Let’s face it; there are millions of different opinions about how to create a warm and inviting indoor space. Whether it’s through Feng Shui, updated lighting, or a new coat of paint, there are several proven methods to make a room look better. But for people on a budget, it’s possible to create a unique indoor atmosphere with just a few simple changes. One simple solution to update a space is with pendant lighting.
Pendant lights provide a chic, modern look while still serving as a pragmatic lighting source. You can make a dramatic change to the dynamic of a space with some new window treatments to diffuse the natural light and reserve the pendants for the nighttime. Tiffany style pendant lights come in several different colors and designs, and it’s possible to use lanterns with different kinds of shades to diffuse the light.
You can easily change the mood in your home with decorative lighting. You can transform a brightly lit room to a more cozy and comfortable room with different lights. And you can definitely add class to your living room with a crystal chandelier hanging in the center.
You can also get a Tiffany pendant light that you can set up anywhere in your home. There are great floor lamps and table lamps you can use as well. Your home will have a distinct look with the right lighting fixtures in place. And you don’t have to spend that much either. Some pieces are very affordable, so you can splurge a bit and make your home really beautiful.
